Integration features

Single-Sign-On

Your members login using the credentials they already have with your organization. After being validated, they will be sent over to OpenWater with their information pre-populated.

Person Lookups and Other Queries

We can harness data you have in Salesforce right inside an OpenWater application. We can query on any object, including objects related to other objects and use that information to help submitters rapidly complete applications in OpenWater. One of the most common uses of lookups are to ensure authors associated with a conference abstract are correctly identified.

Data Push Back

Our integration creates an object in Salesforce that can capture data from all of the OpenWater programs. Data is segmented by OpenWater program / workflow and is associated with the Salesforce User who completed the entry. All of the data captured in OpenWater can be queried in Salesforce using a Salesforce Report. Further integrations are possible with Salesforce Flow to safely move the data captured from OpenWater into other parts of your setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the experience like for Salesforce Admins?

With our Integrations Hub, Single Sign On, Lookup and Pushback are all configurable with a point and click interface. Integration can be done in under an hour and can be modified as your needs change without the need for a developer or consulting time.

Can you Write Back Integration Lead to Accidental Data Loss?

We have taken a very safe approach to pushing back data. We create a custom object called OW_Applications. All data is pushed back to that one object. It is impossible for our push back to manipulate other areas of your salesforce setup. Once data is pushed back, your team that is knowledgeable of your setup can sue Salesforce Flow or Salesforce Process Automation to further move the data and update other records.

Do You Support Fonteva or Nimble AMS?

Yes, we integrate with both Fonteva and Nimble AMS.

Are Fonteva or Nimble Required?

No. Salesforce customers that use the Digital Experiences (included with most Salesforce licenses) can use our integration without further packages from Fonteva or Nimble.

One Hours for Integration Seems Too Low, Can you Explain Further?

Take a look at our hands-on training. We document all of the steps needed to setup OpenWater with Salesforce. During your onboarding we will pair you with an integrations expert from our side; we ask that you setup the call with a Salesforce Admin on your side. Typically one hour is more than enough to complete the configuration.

Do I Need to run OpenWater on my servers?

No, OpenWater is a pure-cloud solution, like Salesforce.

Do you offer a sandbox / practice environment.

Yes, all OpenWater customers can gain access to a complimentary sandbox for practice usage. This Sandbox can be connected to your Salesforce Sandbox. Work done in the sandbox can be imported into the live system.

Do Uploaded Files Get Copied into Salesforce?

No, however links to files can make their way into Salesforce Objects. OpenWater can collect files up to 20 GB in size. To port these files into Salesforce would result in a cost surge to your Salesforce bill.

As such instead of copying files, files remain hosted in OpenWater; and a secured hyperlink can be transferred over as part of the pushback integration.

The secured hyperlink ensures the user is logged in with the appropriate permissions before providing access to the media file.
