Ranked #2056 last year, OpenWater is now ranked #2032 in America
Arlington, Virginia, August 15, 2018 — OpenWater, a software leader, today announced it ranked No. 2032 on Inc. magazine’s 35th annual Inc. 5000 list. The Inc. 5000 is an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. OpenWater’s growth moved up 24 places from No. 2056 last year.
“The success behind OpenWater stems from what we value: focusing on our client’s needs, building a talented team, and continuously cultivating our company culture based on accountability” said Timothy Spell, CEO of OpenWater.
“It is an absolute honor to make the Inc. 5000 list for the second time in a row. We understand that only 33% of companies that initially make the Inc5000 list will repeat, so we’re proud to be joining an elite group of companies that can deliver consistently. By focusing on growing together, our employees are dedicated to providing the greatest services possible for our clients, which naturally creates an environment for company growth.”
The 2018 list showcases the economy’s most dynamic growth center—independent small business. The list encompasses all industries. The ranked companies, in aggregate, represent revenues of over $200 billion and the creation of 640,000 jobs in the last three years, or about 8% of the national economy, according to Inc. magazine.
“Our aim continues to be a superior software product,” says Kunal Johar, OpenWater co-founder and President.
“We work with ambitious clients and a talented, dedicated team. Technology advances and platform expansion move the needle, but true growth comes from our strong investment in relationships. I’m proud of the team we’ve built and the people we serve.”
OpenWater began as an awards software platform in 2007. Its application and review software is now specialized for the specific needs of corporations, nonprofits, foundations, and higher education. The tailored platform includes pathways for grants, fellowships, scholarships, conferences, prizes, and voting.
OpenWater has grown every year since inception. The company signed a 7-year lease on a new, expanded location in January. The office three blocks from Metro and Capital Bikeshare in Ballston, Virginia.
