Address Field: OpenWater’s Latest Time Saver

Published December 19, 2014 in Leadership

Nearly all of the submission criteria we see asks the entrant to fill out some information about where they live, or where their work was produced. Prior to this update, awards administrators would have to add a minimum of 5 fields to create their address, or in some cases up to 9 fields.

In this example, we’ve added a separator field, 4 single-line text fields, and a radio that has a dependent field to pick a state/province (or additional fields to choose another country and type in a province.

With our recent updates, we have added an “Address” field!

With the addition of this one field, we automatically add in all of the logic needed to support addresses around the world. We have special support for the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia with regards to showing states/provinces in a dropdown. For all other locations, we let the entrant type in their province.

Here is a look as to how this field gets rendered in the form builder.
