First Class Improvements to Judge Assignment Process

Published May 23, 2016 in Leadership

Topping our list of requests has been the ability to do all of the prep work needed for judging well in advance of the actual review process. Last fall, we added Judge Teams to quickly group related judges. The May updates unveil a series of features to make the assignments a breeze.

1. The new bulk assignment process lets you store your assignment rules and apply them when ready. Ofcourse, you can still do a one-time assignment as before. However, storing rules will avoid tons of rework for workflows that have a rolling submission period.

2. In addition to being able to filter by Category, we now bring the full flexibility of our report builder conditions to Judge Assignment. In this example, we’ve filtered on entries in a certain category that are in the English language; and are distributing them evenly amongst English language judges.

3. Finally, instead of assignments just going off in the background, we’ve made each assignment action show a preview screen. You can now see in advance which judges will be scoring which applications.

With these improvements to our judge assignment module, we hope to cut down on your workload, avoid surprises in assignment, and save you from repeating your efforts.
