Software Update: Better Numeric and File Upload Fields

Published October 9, 2015 in Leadership

We’ve made some highly requested updates to our form builder that can be used to build out your submission entry forms.

The first is with our number field. Prior to this, we would default all number fields to two decimal points. This got weird if you were asking someone a question like how many employees do you have. It got even worse for scientific uses which might have needed larger precision.

You will now be able to configure the number of decimal places from zero (integers) to ten decimal places.

We’ve found it to be an asset that we can handle massive files. But when it comes to downloading them locally for archival purposes, or for preparation for a live judging event, we found that it might have been better to keep a limit, of say 100 MB per file, or even less for documents. Now your file upload tool can be configured to accept files of 1 MB all the way up to 10240 MB (10 GB).
