How It Works
When OpenWater clients have “OpenWater Verified” enabled on their software no judges’ scores can be viewed,
reported on, or edited by anyone besides OpenWater.
OpenWater Verified Awards ensures that the scoring and winning selection of entries remains transparent and
fair. To put it simply, in this capacity, OpenWater serves a similar function as an auditing firm.
Judges’ scores remain completely anonymous and private throughout the awards process. At the completion of the
awards, the judging results are calculated in the system and first sent to OpenWater staff, keeping those in
charge of the awards separate from the evaluation process.
Afterwards, a full report, including a list of winners, is submitted to the organization.
By auditing the awards process OpenWater helps to ensure the scoring of entries remains impartial and that
winner selection is fair and unbiased.
