The Number of Submissions Has Increased for Your Awards Program … Now What?

Published June 10, 2014 in Leadership

An association’s awards program represents the purpose of the association, furthers its goals, reflects its values, and recognizes those in the industry who do so. Some associations also use their program as an additional source of revenue.

In order for their program to fulfill its purpose, associations must get people to apply for these awards. Most marketing efforts are to increase engagement and submissions. There are lots of ways to go about this and to do it successfully.

After achieving your main goal: to get lots of people to apply to your program, you’re faced with a whole new sets of problems. When submissions increase, the complexity of running an awards program also dramatically increases. It becomes harder to organize and manage the process when you’re always playing catch-up with new applicants and issues.

At this point you may be thinking, “Now what?” How are you supposed to keep up with everything and still pull off a successful program? Well, the answer is you have find a new way, a new system to handle these changes. This system should help you stay organized, efficient, and be relatively simple to use, all while keeping the information accessible at any time.

But how are you going to figure out a way to get that done? Luckily, you don’t have to figure it out; that’s why awards software exists. It provides one online system that tracks, stores, and manages all stages of submission and judging. That means no more spreadsheets, binders, or form-builders. Sounds pretty cool, huh?
