After working in the awards industry for several years, learning what organizations need to ensure the success of their awards programs, OpenWater, a cloud-based awards management software provider, is pleased to announce a new facet of their platform that will allow organizations to have their awards programs audited by an impartial third party (OpenWater) called “OpenWater Verified Awards.”

The new feature was inspired by the concept of trust and awards. Trust is key to any awards program; applicants need to know that when they apply, their entry will be evaluated and scored the same as every other entry. They want to know that the awards process will be fair from start to finish. OpenWater wanted to provide a solution for both the organization running the program and for those applying, that was a simple, direct way to show the transparency and fairness of the awards, while maintaining privacy. Thus, OpenWater Verified Awards was born.

“Getting potential applicants to apply to your awards program is hard enough. The last thing on their mind should be the credibility or transparency of your awards program. That’s why we created OpenWater Verified Awards. Having the OpenWater Verified Awards seal on your website offers visual assurance to your applicants that your awards program can be trusted,” says Timothy Spell, CEO.

How OpenWater Verified Awards Works:

The OpenWater Verified Awards feature serves to ensure that the scoring and selection of winning entries remains transparent and fair. In this capacity, OpenWater serves a similar function as an auditing firm. Judges’ scores remain completely anonymous and private throughout the awards process. At the completion of the awards, the judging results are calculated in the system and first sent to OpenWater staff, keeping those in charge of the awards separate from the evaluation process. Afterwards, a full report, including a list of winners, is submitted to the organization.
