Events and Community Manager

Full-Time W-2 Position

Washington DC Based, Fast Growing, Software as a Service Startup seeks event manager to lead main annual event as well as several smaller events throughout the year. This role is perfect for a motivated individual who is ready to take charge and grow our events department from the ground up.

Your Primary Focus will be on our Annual World of Awards Conference:

  • Manage Venue and Vendor Relations for the Event
  • Attract and Nurture Relationships with Potential Thought Leaders for Speaking Opportunities
  • Coordinate with the Press for Event Publicity
  • Manage Marketing and Outreach to Event Attendees
  • Grow Sponsorship our Base
  • Oversee Post-Event Surveys and Begin Strategy for the Next Year’s Event

As community manager you will need to hear from our stakeholders and build experiences they are clamouring for by:

  • Managing our Twitter / LinkedIn / Facebook Presence
  • Developing an online webinar series
  • Hosting Power User / Training Events
  • Planning Location Specific Events (outside of Washington, DC)

Apply for this job if:

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience managing all aspects of professional events (management of attendees, speakers, vendors, venues, and sponsors)
  • Must have at least 2 years of marketing all aspects of professional events
  • You can demonstrate your outreach skill including web research and LinkedIn outreach
  • You can demonstrate outreach to the press and can show you have demonstrated buzz for an event
  • You can demonstrate marketing efforts you have put towards an event including social media and email
